The black-collared barbet, scientifically known as Lybius tortquatus, is a bird that measures 20 to 25 cm in length. With a relatively large size, it boasts a thick beak that is fringed with bristles and surrounded by a striking red hue that is bordered by a black collar. Compared to other barbets, this particular species is highly colorful. Interestingly, the black-collared barbet exhibits sexual monomorphism, which suggests that physical differences between males and females are negligible.
